By shipping many products directly from our suppliers to our customers, we can reduce additional warehousing, handling and transportation stages within the traditional retail journey.
Research from MIT's Real Estate Innovation Lab found that e-commerce produced lower emissions than traditional retail in 75% of the scenarios modelled in its study. The environmental impact of any delivery still depends on factors including distance, packaging, delivery method and returns, so we continue to look for practical ways to make our fulfilment process more efficient.
